Today's complex electrical power systems require service and testing by experienced professionals. SETCO specializes in placing these systems into operation, keeping them operating, and returning them to service should they fail.
DC High Potential Testing
Evaluate the condition of wiring, terminations, and motor insulation. Avoids in service failure of aging equipment and verifies that new gear can be safely placed in service.
Protective Relay Testing
Routine test, cleaning, and calibration validates that protective relays operate as designed. Undiscovered issues with protective relays, which only operate during fault conditions, can lead to catastrophic failures and fires. Frequently mandated by insurance carriers.
Circuit Breaker Testing, Repairs, and Upgrades
Routine test, cleaning, and electrically exercising the instantaneous and timed trip functions to assure adherence to the manufacturer's specifications.
Cable Fault Locating
Quickly locate underground cable faults so that splicing and other repairs can be performed with a minimum of service disruption.
Underground Utility Mapping
Identify and document the location and depth of utilities.
Insulation Power Factor Testing
Measures the insulation value of transformers, insulators, voltage regulators, lightning arresters, bushings, circuit breakers, generators, and capacitors. Can identify insulation deterioration before equipment failure.
In service temperature survey of cabinets, components, wiring, and rotating equipment. Quickly identifies excessive heat generation that leads to premature failures.
Power Quality Analyses
Identifies damaging system harmonics, voltage spikes, and transient events to determine root causes and identify corrective action.
Short Circuit and Coordination Studies
Short Circuit Studies determine the fault current available at different locations in an electrical system. Using these results, a Coordination Study is performed to determine the correct size and setting of protective devices in the system. The studies are computer generated with time-current curves and developed system one-line diagrams.
Arc Flash Assessment and Remediation
Evaluate a single panel or an entire power distribution system to determine the energy available at specific electrical devices that employees would be exposed to during a fault condition.
Acceptance and Proof Testing
Performed on new and existing installations to determine that specifications are met.
Offering state of the art equipment and experienced staff to handle emergencies.
